CCIs: ACTION! CREATION!  

In just a few years, the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs) have become a key economic pillar in the Montpellier metropolitan area. Fields relating to moving images such as video games, animation, VFX, audiovisual, cinema, and immersive experiences, as well as sound and audio professions, are now all well represented here, bringing together independent studios and international groups.

The Montpellier metropolitan authority is implementing measures within its powers to structure and consolidate this sector, particularly in terms of commercial real estate, support for innovation, promotion, and access to public aid. Cité Créative, which was launched in early 2019, brings together companies in the sector at different stages of their development and gives them access to dedicated workspaces.

The territory also hosts projects, organizations, and companies in the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) sector. Some have obtained national or European labels or participate in programs such as France 2030. These examples demonstrate the presence and vitality of local players in the animated image and CCI sectors, both nationally and internationally.
